Full Name: Ross Fearchar Wilkinson. He never uses the middle name.
Nicknames: A handful of old MIT friends call him Wilk, otherwise it's just Ross.
Age & DOB: 34; January 20, 1976
Birth Place: Columbus, Ohio
Residing: Beverly in an off-campus apartment, at least for now.
Parents: Matthew and Juliana Wilkinson, Clarissa Wilkinson (formerly Clarissa Vaughn, stepmother)
Siblings: Diane Wilkinson Chessley and Dwayne Wilkinson (twins, three years younger), Scott Chessley (brother in law), Riley Vaughn (stepsister), other Vaughn steps
Relationship: Unattached
Children: None yet
Education: Graduated from MIT with a combined Bachelors/Masters in Computer Science at the age of 22.
Career: After graduating, Ross wound up working for Braymore Applications, a software development group based in Salem. (His father was helping him apartment-hunt in Beverly when he met Riley Vaughn's mother Clarissa, sparking a whirlwind romance that culminated in marriage.) Braymore was bought out and restructured in 2004, so he moved back to Columbus, taking a well-paid position at Sterling Commerce, a B2B software company. Growing more and more dissatisfied with his life's focus on technology rather than people, he started teaching in volunteer situations and discovered a passion. He applied to Cabot on a whim a year and a half ago after Riley mentioned they were looking for a new computer science instructor. The job went to a Cabot alumnus, but when that teacher had to leave abruptly for health reasons, the school administration decided to see if their second choice Ross was still available. He was.
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 185 lbs.
Eye Color: Gray
Hair Color: Dark brown
Defining Marks: Scars from an old injury on his left calf
Eyesight: Slightly farsighted, enough to need reading glasses. No lens restriction on his driver's license.
Hearing: Sharp
Dominant Hand: Left
Disabilities: None
Personality: A bit on the quiet side, but affable and gregarious. Ross doesn't usually take long to display his bursts of enthusiasm and his puckish, playful sense of humor.
First Impression: He initially comes across as quite the nerd/geek, but an articulate and friendly one.
Behaviors: His hands are rarely empty or still. If not doing something specific, they fiddle with something, a pen, his glasses, a stress ball, whatever's handy. He may also tap lightly on nearby surfaces. If he is completely still, he's likely staring off into space with something on his mind.
Weaknesses: Ross has seasonal, mold and dust allergies as well as being allergic to cats and dogs, plus asthma related to these. They're usually only a problem if he gets caught without his medication somehow. His leg injury has healed well, but sometimes still aches during weather changes, causing him to limp slightly.
Special Skills: Programming and software design, network maintenance and security. Feels as comfortable meandering around a mainframe as most people do their own living rooms.
Hobbies/interests: Bicycling, fencing, jazz, orienteering, a budding interest in photography, especially taking pictures of pieces of architecture or nature at odd angles. Ross did rock climbing and buildering in college, but that ended when a moment of stupidity left him with a nasty leg injury. He owns a theremin, but never inflicts it on anyone.
